Permissions Etc (work in progress)
Sep. 30th, 2020 04:48 pm ☄ First Impressions ♚ VISUAL: 5'8", 25 years old, fair features. Reedy build. Clean shaven. He has difficulty making eye contact and a tendency to stand in a very forced relaxed way, clearly overthinking the placement of his hands. When he reads he has glasses. ♚ FASHION: 10 different pairs of khakis, button-up shirts, and neutral-colored sweaters. He's pretty inoffensive and forgettable in dress. ♚ DEMEANOR: Ivan is very much what he seems to be at a glance. A scholar, an academic, someone who is more comfortable with his nose in a book and the ivory tower of academia rather than actual field work. It doesn't help that he's mostly a shut-in with the instances of leaving his apartment being few and far between. ♚ SOUND: While Ivan was born in America and speaks unaccented English, he does speak Russian fluently with something of a country accent as well as several dead languages. Latin, ancient Greek, etc. ♚ SCENT: Mild milk and honey soap, ink and the particular mold smell of old books, a variety of herbs and strange plants used in protection against evil. ♚ MENTAL INFORMATION: Ivan is no magician himself though he has the potential for it in his family line. What he does have is a bunch of knowledge of magic and the supernatural and how to fight it. If he notices someone likely to be reading his mind he'll instantly start up with annoying and repetitive thoughts and songs as loudly as possible. ♚ MAGICAL INFORMATION: Again, while Ivan has no magic himself (at the moment) he also does have quite a few magical talismans on his person. Things for protection against evil, protection against specific kinds of monsters, a bunch of herbs as protection against magic. He wears a Saint Dymphna medallion under his clothing that is pure silver as well. ☄ OOC ♚ BACKTAGGING: I try to get my tags done at least once a day but I do work graveyard in PST and am battling health issues, so backtagging is my jam. ♚ FOURTHWALLING: If you want your character to know World of Darkness that says more about them than Ivan, I'm just saying. Nerd. ♚ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Ivan's generally startled by physical affection but he doesn't mind it - hell, he's more than slightly touch starved. He'll be awkward but enjoy it. ♚ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: I'm down with it. Ivan is not a physical fighter though so most of what he's capable of is just making things difficult before he's ultimately taken down. ♚ RELATIONSHIPS: Ivan currently has no relationships outside of coworkers as he's a shut-in who does 90% of his work online. He can be prickly but deeply affectionate for anyone who gives him a chance. That edges a bit into mothering. Totally down with shipping and would love a slow-build. (Alternately if it's a smut meme or something pre-established) Ivan's preferences run towards men. ☄ Notes Etc ♚ CANON: Ivan is a character in New World of Darkness. He's an occultist with the potential for magic though he's never actively pursued it aside from following the same old wive's tales and superstition passed on from his mother, grandmother, great grandmother, etc. Effectively he's a mage who has not yet had his Awakening (though whether or not he's kin is up for debate as well, according to his grandmother her uncle was a werewolf but it's debatable how true that is).
